Aqara unveiled the long-awaited update to its Video Doorbell G4 at CES earlier this year, and it’s finally here. The new model, called the Doorbell Camera Hub G410, joins Aqara’s growing lineup of smart home devices and brings several key upgrades including sharper 2K video quality, a built-in millimeter wave (mmWave) sensor for person detection, support for HomeKit Secure Video, and more. There’s a lot to like about the G410, and you can learn more about all its standout features below.
Aqara’s new Doorbell Camera Hub G410 now up for grabs
Aqara’s new Camera Hub G410 features a 2K sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and 175° wide-angle lens. It even comes with a built-in microphone and speaker for real-time communication with visitors via mobile apps or Aqara’s new Panel Hub S1 Plus. Notably, the G410 also comes with a 95dB chime speaker to alert you of your visitors or if/when a stranger loiters at your door.
Beyond the standard features that we have come to expect from smart doorbells like end-to-end encryption for video feed, one of the standouts here is its ability to function as a smart home hub. The Aqara Doorbell Camera Hub G410 supports dual-band Wi-Fi, Thread, and Zigbee, allowing it to connect with both Aqara accessories and third-party Matter devices – making it a versatile addition to your smart home setup. Aqara has also added Real-Time Streaming Protocol (RTSP) support, letting you send its feed to clients like Home Assistant within the local network.

The new G410 model also carries over some features from its predecessor like Apple Home compatibility with HomeKit Secure Video, on-board facial recognition, local storage, and more. This particular model works on six AA batteries, but you can even hardwire it to your home’s wiring for 24/7 continuous recording to a microSD card. It’s rated to last for up to 5 months on a fresh set of batteries, though, your mileage may vary based on the usage.
Another noteworthy feature, as previously mentioned, is the inclusion of mmWave Presence Detection and facial recognition. Both of these features allow the G410 to detect human presence more accurately than its predecessor while also minimizing “false alerts triggered by irrelevant movement.” Additionally, the G410 can also identify visitors and trigger immediate notifications. Lastly, when it comes to storage, the G410 supports both local and cloud options. You can use a microSD card for local storage or opt for cloud storage instead. It also supports iCloud with an active subscription, making it easier to manage your footage without extra hardware. Additionally, the brand offers free 1-day event-based cloud storage for 6 months, or you can upgrade to 90-day storage with the HomeGuardian subscription.

The Aqara Home app has some exclusive features designed specifically for the G410 users like privacy masking to mask out parts of the dedicated area, voice changing to let you change the voice of the pre-recorded audio, easy integration with Aqara Locks & Panels, and more.
