Tested: I got my steps in on the Merach T12 Foldable Treadmill, complete with Auto Incline [Video]

My old noisy treadmill recently broke down, and I was in the market for something new and smaller. I had the opportunity to test out a foldable treadmill called the T12 from Merach and found a fitness device that offers a stable workout in a significantly smaller footprint. I’ve shared my thoughts and provided an in-depth video review below.

9to5Toys’ take

In my latest review, I got some serious steps in on the T12, a foldable treadmill from Merach. This is a compact home fitness device that provides everything you need for a solid cardio workout.

Starting with the unboxing, several components needed to be attached to the treadmill itself (see above). This was one of the longer assembly processes I’ve encountered, but the instructions were clear, and Merach provided all the necessary tools.

This treadmill was a little heavy, so depending on how often you use your home gym, you may need two people to unwrap it and take it out of the box. I won’t dig too much into all the steps of the assembly because you can see it all in action in my video review below.

Everything fit perfectly, and I had no issues getting this foldable treadmill ready for my first home workout. Once assembled the treadmill’s top half houses a control panel with an LED display and two cup holders I used to hold my phone and a towel during workouts.

Early in my video, you’ll also see a key feature of the T12 treadmill: It’s foldable! When the belt is upright, the T12 is super compact at 25.6″ x 27.6″ x 49.2”, saving 4.84 square feet of space. Additionally, wheels make it easy to push and reposition around your workout space.

To unfold the treadmill, lightly kick a lever on the support beam, which slowly lowers the running belt using a suspension. I sped the process up in my video review because it takes a really long time to unfold.

Next, it was time for my first workout on the T12 Foldable Treadmill, including an in-depth test of Auto Incline.

A close up of a treadmill

When stepping onto the T12 and hitting start for the first time, my first impression was how smooth and quiet (less than 40 decibels) this foldable treadmill is. It does not offer a lot of noise or wobble, even on the carpet of my home gym floor. This is the complete opposite of my previous treadmill, which was bulky, wobbly, and super noisy. On the contrary, the T12 has noticeable build quality.

As previously mentioned, the T12 treadmill features an auto incline function that can increase steepness up to 15% (pictured above). Per Merach 15% this can help you burn up to 60% more calories. I found the incline process smooth and seamless, and easy to manage from the front control panel or from buttons on the left side of the treadmill arm, just above heart monitor plates for your palms.

The T12’s speed ranges from 0.5 to 7.5 mph or 0.8 to 12.1 km/h. The speed is easily adjustable from buttons on the right treadmill arm, opposite the auto incline.

Since this is a compact treadmill, I was initially worried about stepping off the back when I was in a full jog, but I quickly found that I had ample room to run. That being said, someone taller than me (I’m 5’11’) may have a longer gait and face spatial issues, but it was perfect for me.

Whether walking at a steep incline or running near full speed, I could feel the comfort of the folding treadmill’s five-layer running belt, complete with six shock-absorbing pillars to protect my joints. This support is essential for daily running workouts at home, especially when you’re getting older like me!

Lastly (and honestly maybe least), Merach offers a coinciding app compatible with iOS and Android, which was easy to pair with the T12 foldable treadmill via bluetooth. The app offers access to interactive workouts against other users and gives you scenery to look at while you workout, but you have to use your own device. You cannot project anything onto the treadmill’s display, which only shows specific metrics like speed, incline, workout length and heart rate.

The basic screen was a miss for me, and I found no desire to use the app from my small phone screen.

Overall, the Merach T12 foldable treadmill provides a safe and functional platform for home workouts in a compact footprint. I wish such a large display screen offered more and could display content from the app, but it still gives you the vital metrics you need for any workout.

I was impressed by the build quality and support you feel when running, in addition to how quiet it is overall. Plus, you cannot beat its compact size, foldability, and wheels to easily move it out of the way… unless you’re too tall and step right off the back!

That’s a relatively small group, and this foldable treadmill can support most customers who want to do some cardio at home.
