Apple unleashed its all-new AirPods Pro 3 just a couple weeks ago now. We saw a light $10 price drop on Amazon for early adopters that came and went quite quickly, and now Best Buy is serving up an opportunity to grab a set at the best price ever…I’m just not sure you should jump on it. Details below.
Best Buy is now offering open-box units of the new AirPods Pro 3 in “excellent” condition. You’ll find this listing live right now and shipping down at $235.99 shipped with a 1-year warranty.
Regularly $249, this $236 discounted price is indeed the lowest we have ever tracked anywhere online since AirPods Pro 3 landed in mid-September.
But is the $13.01 in savings worth it here?
I would argue that anyone looking to land a set in the early days might as well grab one at the $10 off we saw at Amazon last week, but that was in brand new condition. The $13 in savings Best Buy is offering here is clearly a lower price, but this set is not brand new, the “packaging may vary or be absent,” and there is no mention of a proper Apple warranty here – Best Buy’s open-box Apple gear typically, and very specifically, states that it comes with a 1-year Apple warranty, but these AirPods Pro 3 do not.
A deal is indeed a deal, and this open-box offer is one. But at just $13 off and in open-box condition, I will personally be side-stepping this offer in favor of another deal on a brand new set via Amazon or elsewhere. And, frankly, I would rather pay full price for a brand new set than save the $13 and take a chance I wouldn’t even get the proper packaging without an Apple warranty.
If you are waiting for a deal on the new set, Prime Day fall edition is right around the corner in the form Prime Big Deal Days. Will we see Amazon discount the new AirPods Pro 3 right after release? It’s hard to say for sure, but if I was a betting man, and I’m very much not, I would guess it will serve up some kind of deal, just not a huge one ($20 to $30 off, maybe $50, but probably not).
