Rare discount hits Apple’s black USB-C Magic Keyboard with Touch ID, Num Pad – or $53 off open-box

This is not a giant discount by any means, but it is quite a rare one. We don’t tend to see deals on new condition black Magic Keyboards all too often, and even less so on the Touch ID models with the Numeric Keypad. Today’s however, we did spot Amazon offering Apple’s latest USB-C model on sale for $179.99 shipped

Amazon is now offering Apple’s Magic Keyboard with Touch ID and Numeric Keypad down at $179.99 shipped. This is the model with black keys and the latest USB-C charging port.

Regularly $199, this is, again, cleary not a giant discount, but any sort of price drop on this model is rare. We saw a few opportunities to land one at this price last summer, but we have only seen this keyboard down under $180 twice before today since it was first updated with the USB-C charging port.

But what about not so brand new condition? While I personally don’t love the idea of a refurbished keyboard, Best Buy’s “excellent” open-box units tend to arrive in great condition and you can always give it a good sterilization once it arrives.

As of right now. Best Buy is offering this same keyboard in “excellent” open-box condition down at $145.99 shipped – this is perhaps not low enough to warranty going with an open-box unit for some folks, but it is less than Amazon and the best we can find that comes backed with a 1-year Apple warranty.
