Some of the best AirPods deals of the year are live this week

Some of the best AirPods deals of the year are live this week, as Amazon carries its holiday pricing on the sought-after AirPods Pro 3 at $199 and delivers the lowest price to date on the new AirPods Max 2

AirPods Pro 3

Apple’s AirPods Pro 3 were among the most popular pickups around here over the holidays last year, including both readers and staffers. But if you missed out on that discount, worry not, it is back.

There was a very short-lived opportunity to score these buds for $14 less earlier this year, but the listing constantly jumped out of stock, and even we had a hard time checking out with them at that price.

The $199 deal we have right now is on par with the best Black Friday and holiday offer we featured late last year and is likely Amazon looking to steal sales away from competitors ahead of Prime Day adjacent sale events – there is a chance they drop a touch lower later this month, but the price we have now is the deal we expected to see come late June for Prime Day.

AirPods Max 2

Apple unleashed the all-new AirPods Max 2 this year to deliver what is effectively the first next-generation set to date. We did see a sort of AirPods Max 1.5 with the release of the new colors and a USB-C port a couple years ago, but they were otherwise identical to the original Max. The new set delivers Apple’s H2 chip with upgraded ANC and Transparency modes as well as an enhanced high dynamic range amp for better sound reproduction.

After some lighter price drops landed late last month, AirPods Max 2 have hit a new all-time low with a solid $50 in savings for folks looking to land a proper next-generation set of Apple over-ears for the summer. This is the first time we have seen the new Max 2 drop below $509 in brand new condition.
