As we reported over at 9to5Google, the latest Google TV Streamer 4K just got a stealthy price increase and not a small one. The once $100 Google streaming device is now already carrying a $150 list price pice on the official Google Store and there’s no telling where deals might land on this one throughout the year – Amazon is still selling it at $100 right now if you want to lock one in before it goes up there too.
As of this morning, Amazon is still selling the latest Google TV Streamer 4K with the included remote at $99.99 shipped.
This is indeed just the MSRP, but it is now effectively a “deal” considering this thing is selling for $150 on the Google Store.
Best Buy is now also selling the Google TV Streamer 4K at $149.99 as well – it is more than likely only a matter of time before the price jumps up at Amazon.
As we have seen with a number of tech devices this year, the price goes up, and we are lucky to see them drop back down to the former MSRP.
Previous to the price increase, the best deal we had tracked on this streamer was $29 off. If this trend continues after the price hike takes hold at Amazon, you’ll still be paying more than you would locking it in at $100 right now. We, of course, can’t know for sure where deal pricing will land in the coming months, but something like $120 or so isn’t out of the question.
