There are loads of different editions when it comes to the Hobbit, but this one is special. It features two poster-size, fold-out maps, an illustrated 88-page booklet, and a printed art card of Tolkien’s original dustjacket painting (“over 50 sketches, drawings, paintings, and maps by J.R.R. Tolkien himself”) all wrapped up in a quarterbound with raised ribs on the spine, stamped in three foils on black cloth boards, and housed in a custom-built clothbound slipcase. The pages are even edged in gold and include a ribbon marker. It’s a special one.
