In celebration of 12 million downloads, popular photo manipulation app developer MacPhun is now offering FX Photo Studio for free on iPhone and iPad. Regularly priced at $2.99 and as high as $6.99 respectively, we’ve only seen them go free a few times on the App Store since release in mid 2013. Combined, the two apps have 4+ star ratings from more than 12,000 reviewers.

Macphun releases creative image manipulation tools for Mac/iOS like ColorStrokes and Snapheal, and FX Photo Studio is no exception. Like its Mac counterpart, the iOS version puts nearly 200 photo filters and a series of different editing tools at your disposal.

Head below for more details:

“One click will make an ordinary snap look Vintage, Dramatic, Analog, Monochrome, Grunge, Sketch, 3-D, Color Splash and much more!”

Along with 194 tweak-able and creative filter types like the ones mentioned above, you’ll find all the essential image tools like gamma, saturation, contrast, hue and exposure. There is also an interesting color splash tool for creating those black and white images with a single pop of color showing through, as well as caption art, watermarks and text bubbles. Beyond that, there is the typical sharing features and the option to create postcards from within the app that ship anywhere in the world.

FX Photo Studio for iPhone and FX Photo Studio HD for iPad are available now as free downloads on the App Store. This sale will run today and tomorrow. For those interested in the Mac version, you can find our full review here.
