VUDU now offers its new free ‘Movies On Us’ Digital Streaming Service on iOS/Android, Roku, Chromecast and more

VUDU in attempt to compete with Amazon, iTunes, Netflix and the rest is now offering a digital streaming service with select full length (ad-supported) digital movies, TV shows and more for free. Aside from the ads in the videos, the only catch is that you’ll have to create a login to access the library of content. Also, it will ask you for credit card info if you plan on making purchases, but you can skip that step if you want.

A few good titles that are available for free are “School of Rock,” “True Grit,” “The Magnificent Seven,” “Phantom of the Opera,” “Mad Max,” “Star Trek Nemesis,” “The Walking Dead,” and many more. This new program is a smart move by the Walmart owned company to generate revenue from older content and potentially attract new customers that may end up buying or renting premium content. Vudu is accessible from the web and via downloadable app for iOS and Android. Also you can watch on most smart TVs, Roku, and Chromecast.

We still have a rare 25% discount on a year of Hulu’s streaming service for $6/month or $72/year

The Vudu Movies on Us titles include critically-acclaimed films, family-friendly features, date night movies, thrillers, documentaries and more. They stream in full HD 1080p resolution, with Dolby Digital sound when available, and can be watched across an extensive line of smart TVs, Blu-ray players, and TV connected devices such as Roku, Chromecast and gaming consoles. Vudu is also accessible from the web and via downloadable app for iOS and Android, including the recently released Mi Box Android TV device.
Vudu delivers the latest movies and TV to almost every web-enabled device, across every major platform. With over 100,000 titles that can be watched on hundreds of millions of devices, Vudu is one of the fastest-growing video on-demand services. Founded in 2004 and acquired by Walmart in 2010, Vudu provides a premium entertainment experience with the latest in digital video and entertainment technology, including 4K Ultra High Definition, Dolby Vision HDR, and Dolby Atmos Cinema Sound.
