Review/Giveaway: Aukey 4-port car charger delivers fast charging to 4 tablets at once: $17 Prime shipped (66% off)

Aukey-car-charger

Sometimes it is hard to be definitive on “Best of” products. On car chargers, it now isn’t. I’ve been using the Aukey Quad-port car charger for a few weeks and it is the most powerful, most solid, has the most ports and is one of the smallest I’ve tried. It also holds up well after multiple insertions and removals and it looks as good as a car charger is going to get. It also has a chip inside that not only knows how much charge to deliver to each port, but it also knows when the charge is complete and will shut down.

We’re talking no-brainer territory here.

Even if you have USB ports in your car, they likely don’t quick charge iPhone 6s s and iPads. This one does. Up to 4 of them at a time via the 48W/9.6A total output.

Amazon is currently offering the Aukey Quad-port car charger for $16.99 with free Prime shipping. That’s 66% off!

Oh, and as sad as it is for me, I’ll send this slightly used demo unit to someone who shares 9to5toys/this post on social media or signs up for our newsletter (US only).

Amazon announces its Black Friday gameplan and prices, new deals every 10 minutes

amazon-black-friday-early-2014-deals

After sitting idly while its biggest competitors released Black Friday Ads and announced Pre-Black Friday Sales, Amazon has finally detailed its Black Friday 2014 plans.

Here’s how it shakes out:

Amazon will offer eight days of Black Friday deals, with new deals being added “as often as every ten minutes.” Additionally, Amazon will offer three Gold Box Deals of the Day on Thanksgiving and Black Friday.

Remember, Amazon Prime members will continue to have early access to select Lightning deals. If you aren’t a member than I recommend signing up for the free 30-day trial right now to lock in free 2-day shipping and exclusive offers throughout the holiday shopping season.

Continue on for the full press release and Amazon’s Black Friday prices for a range of HDTVs, Nest Learning Thermostat, Fitbit Aria Wi-Fi Smart Scale, and many home items: Read more

Best Buy 3-day sale: iPad Air $80 off, 16GB WiFi model starts at $320

best-buy-beat-black-friday-ipad-sale
Update (11/20 2:45pm): Staples iPad deals are now expired, but Best Buy is still offering an $80 discount on iPad Air.

Staples is taking $100 off a couple of Apple’s most popular iPads. The standout deal is a Retina iPad mini A.K.A iPad mini 2 for $199, which is $49 less than Apple charges for the first generation, non-Retina model:

We’re not sure how long these prices will hold so if you’re interested then I would move on the iPad of your choice sooner rather than later.

Note: Best Buy has iPad Air for $80 off, which is obviously less of a discount, but worth noting in case you have gift cards or points to burn.

Walmart Pre-Black Friday sales event starts this Friday, includes an iPad Air 2 for $489 with a free $100 gift card

Update (11/20 10:30am): Walmart has released the full details of tomorrow’s Pre-Black Friday sale. Deals include a Playstation 4 with a free $50 gift card, a 40-inch HDTV for $115, Samsung Chromebook for $199 with a free $50 gift card, and the iPad/iPhone deals already mentioned below.

Walmart is keeping its promise to make Black Friday a monthlong sales event. We’ve already seen several doorbuster level deals from Walmart in the past week, but the big-box retailer has a couple more tricks up its sleeve.

Beginning at 8am on Friday, Walmart “will be matching or beating select Black Friday offers from top national competitors on items.” The press release is extremely vague when it comes to specific deals, but it did out one that we are especially excited for:

The included gift card brings the total effective iPad Air 2 price down to $389. Now, Target charges $10 more for the same iPad Air 2, but will beat Walmart by including a free $140 gift card. The only catch is that you may have to fight crowds or get lucky online to snag that deal. My advice is to grab whichever deal you happen to find in stock.

This sale also includes an iPhone 6 with a free $75 gift card for $179.

Check back Friday morning for our rundown of Walmart’s top Pre-Black Friday deals.

Save up to 50% on some hilarious (and mildly offensive) Ugly Christmas Sweaters

It’s just about that time of the year when our FaceBook inboxes begin to overflow with Ugly Christmas Sweater Party invites. Instead of slogging out to your local Goodwill store and buying an itchy, smelly, Bill Cosby looking sweater, you should save up to 50% (off list) on these awesome Alex Stevens Holiday sweaters.

My personal favorite is the ‘Sad Snowman’ sweater with a dog turning the snowman yellow, if you know what I mean. Beyond Christmas, other holiday themes include Thanksgiving, and Hanukkah. The majority of these sweaters are available for $29.99.
