If you’ve been unsure about getting into whole home audio, now is the chance to make the jump. Newegg is offering the SONOS PLAY:5 Wireless Speaker (black) for $329 shipped. This is a very rare deal on SONOS’ flagship speaker, the original wireless audio device that started its line of products.

The SONOS PLAY:5 regularly retails for $399 at retailers like Amazon, the only promotions that we’ve seen include gift cards, not discounts. Finding any SONOS device for nearly 20% off is a no-brainer. I currently have six SONOS speakers in my home, and I must say that it is a nearly flawless audio experience. The design is well thought out and audio stays perfectly in-sync throughout my house.

It features five individual speakers: two mid-range drivers, two tweeters and a subwoofer, the PLAY:5 is designed to fill a large room with sound. It is controlled wirelessly via the SONOS iOS/Android app, offering playback from Spotify, Pandora, Beats Music, Tidal and more. Pair these with other SONOS speakers for a complete home audio solution.

Over 2,800 Amazon customers rate this speaker 4.4/5 stars, with 70% of reviewers giving it 5/5 stars.

I have had this system since they first came to market and I love it….In fact, so much that I bought some for close friends as gifts. Personally, it does everything I hoped it would be. 1.) great sound quality (im not an audiophile) 2. Very easy to set up and reposition if need be 3.) Great, intuitive, easy to use interface. that works in conjunction with all IOS devices (probably more, but only commenting from my perspective.) Plus, it integrates easily with existing home systems (Denon , Onkyo AVR)

A feature that I use EVERY night is the Sleep feature……it shuts off every night with 15m,30m,1h,2h time increments…..and the volume slowly decreases.

On the flip side: when you set the wake alarm…..the music gradually increases in volume throught the house.

Has a simple to use computer interface on Mac AND PC.

I normally listen to the same Pandora radio or Sirius XM station…so from any speaker in the house, I can raise, lower or mute all the music from any location.

I have seen other systems “come on line” over the years and I have not tested any other them (so my pertspective is limited in that regard.) I have yet to find a reason of why I would want to consider switching because Sonos does everything I needed it to do. (and they keep improving)

Price: I don’t know if you can get a comparable system for significantly less price? I have not considered this since at the time of my purchase, Sonos was really the only game in town? (And it would be silly, for me to buy all new for the price!)

This being said, I always welcome anyone to share a similar system with features I am missing?. I am pleased with my purchase on a Nightly/Daily basis! Still expanding!

Personal Goal: (single/ live alone) to hear any music on Pandora or Sirius throughout my home, as if I am walking around with headphones! Sonos = quality, right down to the box it comes in! Uniform shape, sturdy, with a handle! Perfect 🙂
