Today only, A4C offers the refurbished Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station for $99.99 with free shipping. That’s $99 less than the regular price in new condition and the best current price that we can find. Today’s deal is $30 less than Apple’s refurbished listing, which does come with added security of a one-year warranty and Apple’s stringent refurbishing process. However, A4C does include a 90-day warranty with this purchase. For $.99 more you’ll be able to get an Airport Extreme for nearly the same price of an Airport Express.

The Apple AirPort Extreme Base Station serves up 802.11ac Wi-Fi and includes USB connectivity to easily share printers and hard drives. It has beam-forming technology to pinpoint the location of your device and strengthen the signal for increased performance. This router will ensure that current generation MacBooks, iPads and iPhones will receive the fastest speeds possible.

FYI: you cannot connect an encrypted drive to APE via the USB (2.0) connection (my Time Machine backup drive is encrypted). I just got a refurb APE (ac) from apple’s website. I can connect a USB 2 hub, however.

If I had known of this limitation, I would have paid the extra to get the Airport Time Capsule w/2 or 3TB built-in drive instead, as, while there is room for a drive in APE, they left out the hardware for the interface, so, impossible to add a drive inside it.
