Amazon has been loading up the perks of its Prime subscription service lately. The latest addition is Family Vault, a new feature of Prime Photos that aims to simplify your image and content management. Aside from the usual free unlimited storage, users will be able to invite up to five individuals to their ‘Vault’. Designated individuals can upload as many photos as they’d like plus another 5GB worth of video or files from a variety of devices. This new feature is a noteworthy addition following the announcement of Amazon’s photo printing service last month.
Alongside today’s news, Amazon is also implementing an upgraded search technology that automatically identifies faces alongside new facial recognition features. This move is likely to combat Google’s free image storage service that includes impressive search functionality. One thing is for sure, there’s no shortage of digital storage options for consumers today with Apple’s iCloud service, Google and Amazon all vying for your content. Head over to this landing page to learn more about this new feature and Prime Photos.
Amazon’s powerful search helps you find your photos fast. Find specific photos by searching for things, people, or places in your images. Your photos are organized automatically, so there’s no tagging required. Prime members can share their free photo storage with up to 5 people. View and collect everyone’s photos together in the Family Vault. Your photos stay private until you choose to add them. Photos of the same people are grouped together automatically so you can easily find pictures of specific people.
