Instapaper, the popular offline reader app for iOS, is making some changes to its in-app, subscription-based payment structure today. In fact, the developer has decided to offer its usually $29.99 per year premium service upgrade to all of its users for free.
That means that both new (free download) and existing users will now have access to:
- An ad-free Instapaper website
- Full-text search for all articles
- Unlimited Notes
- Text-to-speech playlists
- Unlimited speed reading
- “Send to Kindle” via bookmarklet and mobile apps
- Kindle Digests of up to 50 articles (send articles to Kindle)
- …and more…
Instapaper isn’t leaving its current paying customers in the dust either. The company will offer prorated refunds and those users will “no longer be billed for Instapaper Premium.” All users will have an ad-free experience across all platforms, according to the development team.
