Perfect stocking stuffer/office gift: 8-Pack Sprout plantable cedar pencils – basil, cilantro and more for $15 Prime shipped

If you’re looking for an interesting gift this year that is sure to get people talking, look no further than the Sprout Pencil: Herb Pack. These “plantable pencils” are basic writing utensils made from sustainably harvested cedar wood that can be planted when they get to small to use (or anytime really). Currently on sale at Amazon for only $14.99 with free shipping for Prime members or in orders over $49, each of the eight pencils in the pack will blossom into a different herb: basil, cilantro, dill, mint, parsley, rosemary, sage, and thyme. They carry a 4+ star rating from over 100 Amazon customers. Details below.

Speaking of home grown herbs, the best AeroGarden w/Herb Seed Pod Kit is 62% off for today only ($160 shipped).

Most pencils, once sharpened down to a stub, serve no further use. At Sprout World, we have created a solution to combat this waste. A pencil with a water activated seed capsule, Sprout can be planted when it becomes too short to use. What was once a writing utensil soon grows into an herb.

Features:

  • High-quality #2 pencils.
  • The Herb Pack contains 8 Sprout varieties: basil, cilantro, dill, mint, parsley, rosemary, sage, and thyme.
  • Sustainably harvested cedar wood body.
  • Sprout is a pencil that grows. When Sprout is too short to use as a pencil, plant Sprout to grow herbs.
  • Handmade in Minnesota, USA.

How to Plant:

Press the green end into the soil, covering only the capsule. Ensure that you plant Sprout in a location where it will receive plenty of sunlight.

Water your Sprout in order to activate the seed capsule and begin the seed’s germination. Continue to water every day so that the soil stays moist.

If there is still a pencil stub leftover, it can be used as a helpful plant label or it can be removed.
