Walmart is now introducing free 2-day shipping on orders over $35 with no membership fee required. Even items not marked with the new 2-day shipping label (seen below) will “qualify for free 3-5 day shipping on orders over $35”. That’s down from the usual $49 free shipping threshold we are accustomed to and puts the retailer, more or less, in-line with Best Buy’s policy.
This is great news for avid Walmart shoppers and it looks as though the new 2-day shipping is appearing across a number of different product categories. Even some third party sellers are getting in on the action. While it is expected to see this kind of offer hit the usual household items like “baby necessities, pet products, food, cleaning supplies and beauty favorites”, but we are also seeing it on larger ticket items like games, LEGO sets, other electronics and well, pretty much everything. more details below:

How does this new program work?
Any item with a 2-Day Shipping flag is eligible for the 2-Day Shipping option if the order is over $35. Millions of items are eligible.
What does 2-Day Shipping mean?
Eligible orders of $35 or more will ship FREE of charge within two business days. The shipping method time starts when the item ships. For example, it will take 2 business days after items ships to reach you with 2-Day Shipping.
Addresses in the following State Codes AK, HI, AE, AP, AA, PR, GU, MP, PW, AS, VI, FM and APO/FPO addresses with U.S. ZIP codes will ship for free with 3-5 Day shipping. You will see this noted in checkout.
When must orders be placed?
Orders must be placed by 2 p.m. in the time zone of the delivery destination to be received within two business days.
What about items that do not qualify for 2-Day Shipping?
For items that do not qualify for free 2-Day Shipping, Walmart also now offers free 3- to 5-day shipping for orders of $35 or more. Marketplace and freight items count towards the $35, but shipping is case-by-case based on location.
