In the lead up to Prime Day and in an effort to combat Walmart’s no-shipping discounts, Amazon has implemented a new shipping-based promotion of its own.
Prime members are now eligible for promotional rewards (more on that below) and immediate discounts on a wide, yet selective group of products. However, you will have to choose the FREE No-Rush Shipping option during checkout in order to receive them. This will essentially waive your free 2-day shipping privileges in favor of a 6-day layover to redeem the discounts.
The actual offers vary from item to item. In some cases we are starting to see quite deep price drops (as much as $80 or so) for customers that don’t mind waiting a little bit longer. While this varies from Walmart’s recent effort to some degree, Amazon likely doesn’t even need to do this in order to compete. Walmart is offering direct dollar-off discounts on a large selection of goods for those who are willing to forgo shipping entirely and go pick the thing up at the nearest brick and mortar location.
You can use your FREE No-Rush rewards towards purchasing a variety of things. Rewards can be used for buying eBooks on your wishlist, favorite movies on Amazon Instant Video, groceries and daily essentials on Prime Pantry, and just about anything else. You’ll see which No-Rush reward your order qualifies for in the offer at checkout. Rewards are automatically added to your Amazon.com account once your FREE No-Rush order ships, and they are automatically applied to qualifying orders as well. This is just another perk of being a Prime member!
Now there are some items on Amazon that will offer up rewards as opposed to a direct discount. The details here are a little bit scarce, as they can vary quite widely, but some perks include small Prime Pantry credits. In some cases, it may not even offer a better value compared to your overall investment in a Prime membership in the first place. So your best bet is to keep it locked to Toys and let us do the work for you. We have already featured some very notable FREE No-Rush Shipping deals in the past week or two.
Here’s is what we know about the No-Rush reward offers:
When can I use my rewards?
Rewards will be available after your No-Rush order ships. We will send you an email with the details of your promotional rewards when your order ships. The next time you shop on Amazon.com, refer to this email for instructions on how to redeem. You can use your rewards by logging on to Amazon.com, or browsing your smart phone, tablet, e-reader, TV or streaming device
What can I purchase with my No-Rush reward?
No-Rush rewards apply only to the type of items indicated in the offer at checkout. Depending on the offer you can use your rewards to shop for daily essentials on Prime Pantry, Kindle ebooks, Amazon Instant Videos, Digital Music, Amazon Appstore apps, Digital Video Games, Digital Software titles and more. Rewards are automatically applied at checkout.
