Play DOOM on PS4 this weekend for FREE + 50% discount (PS Plus only)

When id Software announced it was relaunching the classic Doom franchise we all, for the most part, knew what we were getting into. Then last year in May when the game finally hit store shelves it received critical praise and proceeded to mostly blow our minds. It has an aggregate score on Metacritic in the mid-to-high 80s across all three platforms, along with a number of near perfect scores from some of those most reputable outlets.

Along with a fantastic price on PSN right now, PlayStation Plus members will also be able to play the game for free from today through July 31st at noon. This is another one of those PlayStation full game trials, but this time you will need to be a PlayStation Plus member in order to get access.

However, if you have already come to your senses, you can just buy it for 50% off right now on PSN as well. Regularly between $20 and $30 on Amazon, PS Plus members can own it for $14.99 right now. That’s matching our previous mention on a Xbox digital code as well.

Now includes all three premium DLC packs (Unto the Evil, Hell Followed, and Bloodfall), maps, modes, and weapons, as well as all feature updates including Arcade Mode, Photo Mode, and the latest Update 6.66, which brings further multiplayer improvements as well as revamps multiplayer progression.

DOOM returns as a brutally fun and challenging modern-day shooter experience. Relentless demons, impossibly destructive guns, and fast, fluid movement provide the foundation for intense, first-person combat – whether you’re obliterating demon hordes through the depths of Hell in the single-player campaign, or competing against your friends in numerous multiplayer modes. Combine your arsenal of futuristic and iconic guns, upgrades, movement and an advanced melee system to knock-down, slash, stomp, crush, and blow apart demons in creative and violent ways. Expand your gameplay experience using the DOOM SnapMap game editor to easily create, play, and share your content with the world.
