Released this month, Target announced that a new label would be joining its line-up of in-house fashion brands, Universal Thread. This is a denim-based collection with all prices starting from $5 and go up to $40. It’s officially launching Feb. 4th online and in all Target stores. The line is very budget-friendly and features prices about 10 percent lower than Target’s current brands. The brand features jeans as well as incorporating tops, dresses, accessories and shoes. Some of the few details the brand will feature is no-fade black jeans, anti-bagging technology and stain-repellent white jeans.
One of our favorite items from the collection is the High-Rise Skinny Jean for $25. These black high-rise jeans are very versatile, whether you are wanting a casual look with a t-shirt or a pair of heels for a date night. This denim has been designed to have the perfect fabric weight, smoothing, sculpting and giving you a confident fit wear after wear.
Another denim piece that is an essential in your wardrobe is the Freeborn Jacket. This relaxed denim jacket has a classic medium wash, and makes a go-to layering piece to place over sweater, dresses, t-shirts and more.
“Denim is a part of every woman’s wardrobe,” Mark Tritton, Target’s Executive Vice President and Chief Merchandising Officer states. “In developing this brand, we conducted research with nearly 1,000 women from across the country to better understand their needs when it comes to shopping denim. What we heard from nearly all of them was that they dreaded shopping for new jeans. Whether the rise was too long or the inseam was too short or the pair of jeans they wanted didn’t come in their size finding the perfect fit for their body type was just too challenging. That’s a problem we wanted to solve.”
Another item from the collection that is a must-have is the Wenda Cut Out Bootie. These unique booties feature a cut-out design, pointed toe and subtle block heel. It’s a great piece to add to your spring wardrobe to pair with jeans or dresses alike. Better yet, these booties have a price tag of just $33.
Lastly, the Women’s Tie Front Pullover is casual and versatile. This cozy sweater can be worn with jeans and booties for cooler weather or shorts and sandals for a spring day. It is available in two different color options: gray or lavender.
