Destiny 2 has had mixed reviews, and this writer tends to agree with them. I was a hardcore Destiny fan for the first game, and had high hopes for the second, to the point where I even bought it for all three major platforms (PC, PS4, Xbox One.) Yes, I bought 3 copies of Destiny 2 Deluxe and played it quite a bit opening week and then kinda just stopped.
Well, just like the original Destiny game, Bungie has released a few DLC’s for Destiny 2, and it’s time to start playing again. This game series is great once it gets some added content, and today, Bungie released the second expansion for Destiny 2, Warmind.
Warmind brings along with it new gear, content, and activities for Destiny 2 players. There’s also a new story and new boss battle that will bring challenges to players that they’ve never faced before.
In this new expansion, you’ll meet Ana Bray, a hero that’s voiced by actress Jamie Chung. Warmind gives new breath to the Destiny 2 universe and gives both dedicated fans and returning players (like myself) new content to love and enjoy.
You’ll go to polar ice caps on Mars, as well as find new endgame activities like Escalation Protocol. In this new game mode, you’ll fight through increasingly difficult waves of Hive combatants to prove who’s the best.
There’s also a new Raid Lair, Spire of Stars, which is a Destiny fan-favorite from the original game.
The expansion also brings Season 3 gameplay updates which give powerful upgrades to Exotic weapons, ranked Crucible play, new Crucible maps, private matches, more space in your vault, and more.
Byron Beede, executive vice president and general manager of Destiny at Activision said, “We are excited about the future of the Destiny franchise. Together, as partners with Bungie, we have taken various steps to create a dialogue between those who make the game, and those who play, Warmind represents another step toward bringing the Destiny 2 hobby back to our dedicated players.”
Byron went on to say that they have been playing Destiny alongside the community and wanted to show that they are actively listening to the players when it comes to the game. In doing so, that’s why Activision and Bungie launched this new DLC with expanded endgame content and more meaningful rewards, as this was highly-requested by gamers.
Destiny 2 Expansion II: Warmind is available for purchase through your console or Battle.net app on PC by itself for $19.99, or as part of the Expansion Pass for $34.99 which includes both the previous and new DLC packs. Warmind is available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC starting today.
