Intel’s NUC 8 Mini PC is a great starting platform for gamers at $799 ($100 off)

$799

Newegg offers the Intel NUC 8 Premium VR Capable Mini PC Kit (NUC8i7HVK) for $799 shipped. Regularly closer to $900 at Amazon and on sale for $850 there right now, this is the lowest that we’ve tracked and is the best available. With a quad-core 8th generation Intel Core i7 and its dedicated 4GB AMD Radeon RX Vega M GH graphics card, this is a powerhouse that’s capable of running most games.

The Radeon RX Vega M graphics card is compared to NVIDIA’s GTX 1060 6GB, so you’ll have plenty of gaming power out of this smaller package. Do note that you’ll need to supply your own RAM, SSD, and Windows license key to finish out the computer. Though the added cost, this is a very powerful machine that Intel claims can easily handle virtual reality and intense sessions, and this is a much smaller and easier way to enter PC gaming than building your own tower.

Reviews are still coming in here, but Intel’s NUC platform is well-rated at Amazon.
