With lots of smart security cameras flooding the market, it’s hard to know which one is the best. In many instances you need to buy multiple cameras so you can see from more than one angle. With the release of its 360-Degree Outdoor/Indoor All-in-One HD Camera that was originally announced at CES 2018, Guardzilla has provided a simple security camera solution that allows you to see from all angles with just one device.
Guardzilla has been around since 2014 and offers a line-up of HD cameras with options that can be used both indoors and outdoors. The company currently offers 5 cameras with the addition of its latest release.
Guardzilla’s latest camera offers a lot of features for such a small device. In addition to providing all-around coverage, it also packs an ‘ear-splitting’ 90 decibel siren if motion is detected while armed, weatherproofing sufficient to protect from extreme conditions, free 2-day cloud storage for motion alerts, and dual power options to use the built-in rechargeable battery or included AC power cord.
While there are lots of smart cameras to purchase today, not many come close to offering all the features mentioned above. While Netgear’s Arlo security system is in the ballpark, the cost makes it a bit less desirable and each of its cameras offer just 130-degree coverage.
The Canary All-in-One is another security camera worthy of a comparison. At the time of this post, the list price is about $30 cheaper than Guardilla’s offering, but once again loses the fight with its limited 147-degree coverage. It also lacks the versatility of being outdoor-capable, although you can opt to purchase an additional Canary Flex.
If there is one area that Guardzilla’s latest camera loses at, it has got to be its smartphone app. While it receives frequent updates, the app’s design could use a lot of help. For example, it has not yet been optimized for iPhone X, a smartphone that has been available since last year.
All things considered though, it seems that Guardzilla’s offering may have one of the best hardware feature-sets available. It also offers all of this at a compelling price point. Thanks to the 360-degree coverage, you can purchase fewer cameras for your home or business.
