Madewell is one of my all-time favorite stores and they’ve recently collaborated with the New Zealand designer Karen Walker. This very on-trend collection will retail in Madewell stores for under $200, which is a great price for designer clothing. The collection also comes in sizes from XXS to XXXL to accommodate all body sizes. The 19-piece range, features items including a printed yellow trouser, small cat-eye sunglasses, frayed denim and a bride-worthy white midi-dress.
“It felt really important to be inclusive and to not alienate people from this collaboration,” said Madewell creative director Joyce Lee, who notes that the collaboration’s sizing is in keeping with Madewell’s new initiative in offering a wide range of product in diverse sizes.
One of my favorite pieces from this collection is the Striped Ruffle Top for $92. I love the feminine details that this top offers and it would look great paired with white jeans, dark denim or leggings. Also, this looks like one of Karen Walkers signature tops that are usually priced at $200+.
Another top that really stood out to me in the collection is the Silk Floral Gennaker Top. A perfect addition to your fall wardrobe with a floral pattern that would look great paired with the Blazar Zip Wide-Leg Jeans. Its unique details like its small buttons in the front as well as a bow in the back tie really make this top standout. You can pick up the Silk Floral Top for $128.
“Madewell had free rein on our archives and they pulled out many of the garments that we consider to be the best-known and best-loved,” Walker said in a statement. “For us, it was totally intriguing to see our classic designs rediscovered and reimagined by fresh eyes.”
If you’re looking for a dress to transition into fall weather, our favorite from this collection is the Fathom Denim Off-the-Shoulder Dress. Its frayed hems makes this dress standout from a regular denim dress and its tie-waist will be flattering on any body type. I also love that it’s very versatile to pair with sandals, booties or heels alike.
Jumpsuits were another huge trend for 2018 and the Taken Denim Jumpsuit is a must-have. Its flared hem is very flattering and will make your legs look longer. This jumpsuit also has a tie-waist that can also be removed for two totally different looks. Combined with its wide shoulder straps and an a-line neck that’s conservative in case of an event.
Karen Walker is also known for its sunglasses and you can pair this jumpsuit or any of our above top picks with the new Helter Skelter Sunglasses. The pink rims gives them a vintage appeal and the gold accents will pair with your entire wardrobe. These sunglasses are the most expensive piece from the collaboration priced at $200.
