If you’ve tried to use streaming media providers like VUDU, iTunes, Amazon Prime, or others, you know that keeping track of what movie is on which provider is never easy. That’s where Movies Anywhere comes in, and we’re going to walk you through how to set up your account.
Movies Anywhere will combine titles from VUDU, iTunes, Amazon Prime, XFINITY, Google Play, Microsoft Movies & TV, and Fandango Now into one service. Not only that, but it makes your titles available on all of the aforementioned services, making watching your favorite movie a breeze.
How to set up your initial Movies Anywhere account
To get started, you’ll sign up using an email, Google, or Facebook account. This is super simple, but be sure to use a secure login method as this is going to be your lifeline to your entire online media library.
If you choose not to use a service like Google or Facebook to authenticate and choose to use an email login, we highly recommend using a secure and unique password. I personally use 1Password when keeping track of logins, and it’s a great service to help you stay safe online.
How to log into media providers with Movies Anywhere
This is where the magic happens. After creating your account, you’ll go through and link any (and we recommend all) streaming media providers that you have. This would include the above-mentioned services like VUDU, iTunes, and Amazon Prime, and any others that you use.
The linking portion is quite simple. You’ll just click “Connect” next to your favorite provider, and then it walks you through logging in and granting account access to Movies Anywhere. This is perfectly safe, no need to worry.
How to watch Movies Anywhere on your devices
Movies Anywhere itself offers applications on Android, iOS, Roku, Apple TV, and Amazon Fire TV and tablets, NVIDIA Shield TV, and even Chromecast. That means you can stream your content regardless of your preferred smart TV device, making access easy.
Now, if you don’t want to use the Movies Anywhere app itself, here’s the best thing about the service: all of your media is available on all connected providers. Well, as long as the studio supports Movies Anywhere (you can view some of the ineligible titles here.)
Once you’ve connected your services, any eligible movie you buy on iTunes will now show up on Google Play, VUDU, Amazon Prime, or any other connected service. This gives you native playback and is great for those who have devices like the Apple TV 4K or SHIELD TV and want to take full advantage of the best streaming each player has to natively offer.
