There are no surprises here in terms of functionality, they are just another solid MagSafe wallet solution that won’t break the bank, but one with an adorable and, for some, nostalgic vibe heavily inspired by the macOS folders. Hands-on with Caseology’s new macOS folder MagSafe wallets
The new Caseology Mac folder MagSafe wallets, or Folder Pop wallets as they are officially known (Cupertino might not like my name for them) come in four styles, a flat blue folder, two blue models with iTunes-like and iCloud-like logos, and a fourth with rainbow-like treatment (Update: Thanks to the reader that pointed out that this looks exactly like the wallet icon on iOS).

The new Caseology Folder Pop MagSafe Wallets are clearly inspired by those little blue folders we have all been filling, moving, and copying on macOS for years, and they do a great job of it. That little extra piece jutting out on the top left corner, the near perfect re-creation of, let’s call it, Apple baby folder blue, and even the rounded corners, it’s about as close to the real (virtual) thing as you could ask for.
Now some folks, no matter how die-hard an Apple fan they are aren’t going to be into this sort of gimmicky, fun design approach. I, in fact, myself am exactly in that camp. I want brown and black leathers, handcrafted stitching, and clean logo-free accessories, or nothing. But not all folks are as classic (boring) as me. Having said all that, there’s no denying the vibes here. It is indeed a Mac folder, looks great doing it, and is actually a good MagSafe wallet too.
And, as you can see from the imagery, there’s also a classic Macintosh treatment (or the iOS Wallet app icon) in the lineup too, which, admittedly will be and has been already getting some iPhone time from me.
Okay so, nostalgic, adorable, and Mac fanboy vibes aside, let’s talk specs. Or more realistically, let’s talk about how this is really just another basic and yet solid MagSafe wallet that gets the job done without reaching up into the $40, $50, or more range because its not made of real leather.
The whole thing is made of a sort of vegan leather treatment that both carries the color well and delivers an animal-friendly wallet at an affordable price. The back of the wallet, however, is covered in a sort of more grippy rubberized material by way of concentric clear silicone circles. This, according to Caseology, is just another failsafe of sorts that helps to keep the wallet in place on top of the magnetic action. And it clearly seems to be working for me.
The MagSafe stick is solid, it didn’t fall off the back of my iPhone once in the few times I wandered around running errands with it, and hasn’t done so at home at all either.
The only real issue I can’t find with the wallet in my testing is a personal one – I prefer my MagSafe wallet (or traditional pocket card holder) to be as absolutely thin as humanly possible. I only carry two cards, maybe three, and a Find My tracker, so I don’t need much space. This Caesology wallet is not thick by any means, and no where near the largest I have tested out, but I would prefer if the main card pocket was tighter, so that I could only carry two cards in there if I wanted – you really need to have at least three, and maybe a fourth jammed in there, for a super tight fit.
Outside of that, and the fact that I’m not the type to carry a bright blue wallet around, it’s a solid experience that does what it says for roughly $25 Prime shipped. If you like the design, it’s hard to go wrong here.
