Anker’s latest product just popped up on Amazon and it’s made with road warriors in mind. In the product listing the company touts it’s new car charger as being “extremely compact” while having enough power to refuel any MacBook model at up to 100W. This is in addition to a couple of other devices that divvy up the remaining 67.5W of energy. Best of all, the pricing is quite reasonable given the fact that Anker has become one of our most trusted brands here at 9to5Toys and is widely available at major retailers. Keep on reading to learn all of the details.

Anker’s most powerful car charger yet

After looking on both Anker’s website and sifting through every car charger the brand sells on Amazon, by our count, the new Anker 167.5W unit appears to take the crown as the brand’s most powerful offering to date in this product category. In fact, it nearly triples the performance of the 67W solution it has been selling on Amazon for about a year now.

Spanning 3.16 inches in length and 1.42 inches in diameter, it’s quite compact, indeed. One of the marketing photos shows it being about the same size as a key fob, so I quickly measured the one I use with my Kia Seltos, and it is actually the same size measuring roughly 3 inches in length by 1.75 inches wide. Even though it’s this compact, Anker touts that it’s ready to “charge your 16-inch MacBook Pro from 0 to 50% in only 47 minutes.”

So you might be wondering how much energy each port is capable of on Anker’s new car charger. Working our way from top to bottom, the first Type-C port offers a maximum of 100W, the second USB-C output cranks out up to 45W, and last on the list we’ve got USB-A which tops out at 22.5W. Another neat perk is that Anker bundles the new charger with a USB-C cable. It’s unclear how powerful the cable is, but it seems likely that it would be able to handle the maximum 100W charging port. One concrete detail in the listing is that it spans 3.3 feet in length.

When it comes to pricing, Anker seems to be quite reasonable with the new release up for grabs at $39.99. Given the fact that Anker’s much slower 67W offering is priced similarly, it makes the 167.5W option the obvious one to pick, even if you never find yourself needing to charge a powerful laptop while on the road.
