There’s been plenty of LEGO buzz of late that is certainly getting fans excited, with tons of LEGO Star Wars news and reveals alongside the most recent Technic 42174 Emirates Team New Zealand AC75 Yacht set unveiling. Today, we take a swim into the waters of LEGO Ideas, where both images and a very cute teaser trailer have been surfacing as first glimpses of the upcoming 21350 Jaws build set, including its pricing. This new set will be released alongside a variety of other LEGO kits this coming August. Get more details alongside a closer look with more images down below.
Taking your nostalgia back to 1975, the 21350 Jaws set comes in to pay homage to one of the twentieth century’s biggest summer blockbusters, making its landfall come August 1, 2024 for $159.99 shipped. Presented and voted on by the general public, the Jaws project reached its 10,000 vote goal back in November 2022, picked by LEGO as one of the winners of the Third 2022 Review Stage alongside another proposal that would go on to become the 21349 Tuxedo Cat build.
Around the time that images began leaking and being passed around the internet, the official LEGO Ideas X (Twitter) released an eight second teaser trailer that hinted at an official reveal from the company. In it, the vicious attacks of the film (which aren’t actually brutal or even really shown on screen – it is a PG movie after all) have been playfully twisted for a giggly little tongue-in-cheek humor, typical of LEGO.
Stacking up to 1,497 pieces, this set recreates what is probably the most iconic scene(s)/location(s) from the first Jaws film – The Orca, the shark-hunting vessel captained by the eccentric Quint. This model stands 14 inches high and comes complete with a buildable Bruce (the shark), as well as minifigures of the three men who gave their lives for the hunt: Chief Brody, Matt Hooper and Quint. The set also comes with a diorama base that holds all the included bits to recreate the fateful battle at the end of the film, measuring 23 inches in length from Bruce’s tail to the pulpit of the Orca.
