Get a sneak peek at new LEGO Star Wars 75388 Jedi Bob’s Jedi Starfighter set

We’re getting yet another first look at an upcoming LEGO Star Wars building set inspired by the Rebuild the Galaxy Disney+ special, going right along with our coverage of the 75389 The Dark Falcon and 75393 TIE Fighter and X-Wing Mash-up sets to be released in August. Courtesy of TidBricks, along with some deep diving into LEGO forums across the web, we have our first image of the 75388 Jedi Bob’s Starfighter set.

For those of you asking, “who is Jedi Bob?” Well, Bob is (and/or was) a Jedi that sought to prevent the space-time continuum of the galaxy from being disrupted and will appear in the canon continuity within the upcoming non-canon animated special. He originated as a non-canon character in 2002 as part of the LEGO Star Wars 7163 Republic Gunship and was first given the name “Bob” in the 2009 reference book LEGO Star Wars: The Visual Dictionary.

This kit will officially release August 1, 2024 at the rumored price of $39.99 shipped, alongside eight other known sets: 75385 Ahsoka Tano’s Duel on Peridea75389 The Dark Falcon75392 Creative Play Droid Builder75393 TIE Fighter & X-Wing Mash-up, 75394 Imperial Star Destroyer75396 Desert Skiff and Sarlacc Pit, LEGO 75398 C-3PO, as well as the LEGO Technic 42174 Emirates Team New Zealand AC75 Yacht and the LEGO Ideas 21350 Jaws set.

From what we could dig up, it looks like this set will stack up to 310 pieces, and will arrive along with a Jedi Bob minifigure. What we don’t know is if Bob will be accompanied by a droid, or what the ship’s exact dimensions will be. If you ask me, it will likely be a slightly bigger build than some similar starfighter designs like the 75333 Obi-Wan Kenobi’s Jedi Starfighter set, which measures in at 2.5 inches high by 10 inches long by 5 inches wide. The picture definitely points to this new kit producing a bulkier ship compared to the thin body on the 75333 model.

We will update you with more information and pictures as it becomes available to us.
