Today, Nomad is introducing “the first AC adapter with an Apple Watch puck built-in.” The new 65W AC Power Adapter Apple Watch Edition is very much what it sounds like, a powerful wall adapter with an integrated Apple Watch charger. The brand has been on a roll this year with an ultra-thin 35W Slim Power Adapter before the debut of its wonderful Apple Find My Tracking Card with MagSafe charging (I love this thing), and today it is turning its attention back to the charging space with the unique new combo wall solution. Nomad 65W AC Power Adapter Apple Watch Edition debuts today
Nomad describes its new 65W AC Power Adapter as “one of the most comprehensive and convenient adapters ever crafted.” Built around GaN technology, it delivers 65-watt output to direct its maximum power to a single device, while leveraging ProCharge tech to intelligently re-route power to both of the two onboard USB-C PD ports – 45W to the high-speed top port and 20W to the bottom. The must-have foldable prongs are also in place here.
That’s great for iPhone, AirPods, iPad, MacBook, and just about everything else these days, but what about your Apple wearable? This is the Apple Watch Edition after all and that means you’ll find a magnetic fast charger mounted directly on the top of the wall charger. Compatible with Apple Watch Series 1-9, SE, Ultra, and Ultra 2 (presumably this will apply to the new 10th anniversary models set to debut later this year as well – everything you need to know about Apple Watch Series 10 is waiting right here), you can simply drop your Apple Watch over the top of the charger, keeping everything in place magnetically, to juice it back up. Nomad says you can also use this magnetic landing pad for your AirPods as well.

Sounds like good stuff all around – Nomad certainly does make many of our favorite Apple gear accessories. But is it a travel charger? I mean are folks going to actually charge an Apple Watch at home effectively hanging over an outlet a foot or so from the floor? Perhaps, but it seems more useful as something you can throw in your travel kit or EDC, effectively providing a single wall charger that can juice up your MacBook, AirPods, iPhone and Apple Watch without having to buy an extra charging station or something along those lines (you would need some kind of wall charger to use one of those in most cases anyway).
It seems a slightly less elegant solution than one of those up and go charging stations, like the brand’s Stand One or Base One models, but the new 65W AC Power Adapter Apple Watch Edition is far less cumbersome to carry, and you’re likely going to need a wall charger in your setup of some kind anyway.
The new Nomad 65W AC Power Adapter Apple Watch Edition is now available for purchase at $100. If that’s a bit much for you or just overkill for your setup, the Nomad 35W Slim Power Adapter is a wonderful super-thin option at $35.
