Eve is one of the most popular smart home brands around here for folks in the Apple HomeKit ecosystem. But with Matter support making its way across the lineup, it is has become increasingly more universal. Just after seeing the brand debut Matter on its Light Switch (free update for existing users too), Amazon has dropped the price on the brand’s Eve Energy smart plug with Matter to $34.95 shipped. This is a regularly $40 plug that has seen less than a handful of price drops this year with today’s deal landing within $7 of the 2024 Prime Day low.
By no means is Eve’s Matter smart plug the most affordable out there – you can score a 3-pack of TP-Link Matter smart plugs for under $19 Prime shipped right now, but that’s rarely the case among the premium brands in the product category.
This is also a higher-end smart plug with Matter over Thread support – “Eve Energy integrates into a Thread network automatically, all you need is a compatible Thread border router.”
That joins the Matter action, allowing the plug to play nice across smart home ecosystems with voice and app control no matter which smartphones and voice assistants of choice are prevalent in your neck of the woods. It, naturally, provides, the usual smart control over anything you have plugged into it alongside a “100% privacy” guarantee from the brand – “No Eve cloud, no registration, no tracking. Local communication without cloud dependency.”
