Best of Black Friday 2024 – Google: Pixel 9 $350 off, Pixel Watch 3 $100 off, Pixel Buds Pro 2, Nest smart home gear, more

For our next round of Best of Black Friday features, we are diving into the most notable gear in the Google ecosystem. While we will certainly being seeing deals across the Googleverse, including its latest Pixel tablets and Chromecast devices, this post is focusing in on its big-ticket latest releases, many of which are already seeing seriously notable price drops as Google attempts to get ahead of the Black Friday curve. Massive price drops are now already live on the Pixel 9 handsets, Pixel Watch 3, and the latest Pixel Buds Pro 2, not to mention its smart home gear, as we look ahead to hopefully seeing the first deal on the latest Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen). Google Pixel 8 and 9 Black Friday deals

Google unveiled its next-generation Pixel handsets this past summer with the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, Pixel 9 Pro XL, and the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. All of which with marked improvements over the previous-generation models and feature deep integration with Google’s suite of AI tools, we expected all models to see at least straight up $100 and $200 price drops for Black Friday this year, but you can throw that right out the window now. Just about all major retailers have already ushered in major price drops across the lineup. That includes what can only be described as a crazy $350 price drop on the base model Pixel 9 at $350 off – this deal isn’t going to last much longer folks, some colors are already starting to sell out. 

While much of these price drops will come, go, and come back again for Black Friday later this month, it’s honestly hard to imagine things getting all that much more affordable than they are right now. While we have not seen any deals advertised as of yet for any lower, it could very well happen, but as mentioned above it’s hard to go wrong with the price drops we are tracking right now. 

Here’s where pricing stands at the time of writing, be it to jump in right now or just for reference on what could be the upcoming Black Friday prices. You’ll notice the previous-generation Google Pixel 8 models getting in on the early sale pricing as well as the still current-generation a-series model, the Google Pixel 8a.

Google Pixel Watch 3

Alongside the Google Pixel 9 handsets, Google unleashed the new Pixel Watch 3. It lands with a  familiar rounded design, complete with that Google minimalist touch, albeit this time around in two sizes, the 40mm and the 45mm. You’ll also find both models with Bluetooth-only or with the option to connect it over LTE. Best of all, they are already on sale as well. 

Alongside the Google Store’s early Black Friday sale, Amazon, Best Buy, and others are now offering up to $100 in savings on the new Google Pixel Watch 3. Again, it is very possible to see pricing get lower come the end of the month, be it in Best Buy’s weekly Friday doorbusters or with some aggressive on-page coupons on Amazon. But we didn’t expect to see more than $100 off on all models this soon after release. Here’s how the early Black Friday deal pricing shakes out right now:

Google Pixel Buds Pro 2

Next up, the all-new Google Pixel Buds Pro 2. Another one of the latest Pixel releases that landed alongside the 2024 handsets, Google unleashed its latest-generation earbuds experience and our full review is waiting right here. While featuring a largely similar charging case, there are some upgraded visual aspects to the buds themselves alongside deeply integrated software enhancements across the board, double the noise cancellation power, and the Google Tensor A1 chip at the heart of the operation. 

As for price drops, we were betting on a solid $50 dip for Black Friday and that’s exactly what we have already. The new Google Pixel Buds Pro 2 are now sitting down at $179 shipped in all four colors courtesy of both Amazon and Best Buy right now. The same story applies here as well. Is it possible to see them drop lower later this month? Yes it is. We were we expecting to see anything lower than the $179 they are fetching right now? Not really. It is very much possible we see them drop to the $169 we are expecting on Apple’s AirPods Pro 2 sometime this month, perhaps even hitting the $159 range to get competitive, but there’s no way to know for sure at this point, and if they do drop lower, we don’t expect to see anything more than $20 or $30 less at this point.

Google Nest smart home deals

The next major category beyond the big-ticket personal tech detailed above, is Google Nest. A range of the latest Google Nest cameras, routers, and smart doorbells are already seeing sizable price drops right now as part of the brand’s effort to get ahead of the competition, all of which you’ll find below, but it is the all-new Nest Thermostat we are waiting on.

The all-new Google Nest Learning Thermostat (4th Gen) launched a few months back alongside the included Nest Temperature Sensor (2nd Gen) as the brand’s latest and greatest smart HVAC controller to supersede its popular 3rd gen model. It carries a $279.99 MSRP and has yet to budge from major retailers as of yet. There are some Amazon third-party sellers with light $15 and $20 price drops right now, but we are very much hoping to see the first notable deal on this new smart home gadget for Black Friday, perhaps something that brings the price closer to $229…fingers crossed.
