ProtoArc’s XK01 TP is a clever and compact foldable keyboard with a keypad designed for work from home or any typing you need to to on the go.
Aside from user manuals and a USB-C charging cable, the XK01 TP comes with a handy carrying case that can store the keyboard itself. Furthermore, the case has a rear pouch that holds an adjustable stand you can also use to position your smartphone upright for easy access in your workspace.
The ProtoArc portable folding keyboard features a multi-touch trackpad that perfectly adapts to Windows or iOS systems, offering various functions like right and left clicks, zooming in or out, and toggling a search using three fingers in Windows 10 or 11.
Connecting the keyboard to my laptop was a snap. I simply unfolded it, and it automatically turned on and went into search mode. It was simple to find the device in my Bluetooth settings. I then clicked “connect” and followed the instructions to calibrate it.
A cool feature of the XK01 TP is that it can connect to three separate devices at once via Bluetooth 5.1. This means you can easily connect your laptop, phone, and tablet to it and switch between devices at the push of a button.
The ProtoArc foldable keyboard also features 12 Multimedia Shortcut Keys, including brightness, volume, play/pause, and screenshot. The included stand is technically for your smartphone, but I also found it handy to hold up the keyboard out of the way while I wasn’t using it.
I found the slimness of the keyboard took some getting used to, as my fingers couldn’t initially find the correct placement to type and the keys had less give than my laptop’s keyboard, but once I got used to it, everything felt quite intuitive.
If you have to work on the go, you can easily fold up the keyboard and phone stand, pop everything into its case, and head out—again, perfect for travel. This is another huge bonus for people like myself who not only work remotely but also work from airports, cars, trains, and anywhere else life takes me.
