Alongside an ongoing deal on the Nothing Ear (open) buds, we just spotted the mid-range Nothing Ear (a) in all three colors down at $79 shipped each courtesy of the trusted Essential-tech Amazon storefront. This seller, along with the Woot store, has had the best deals on the internet for Nothing buds and we are getting another shot at one of them here today. Regularly $99, despite what the Amazon listing says, this is on par with the best we have tracked outside of the limited Black Friday offer at $73.
While you will get a more premium listening and active noice cancellation experience with the flagship Nothing Ear set, they are selling for $149 right now. That said, one of the major draws of the Nothing buds for me is the aesthetics, and you are still getting the sweet retro-futuristic, almost cyberpunk vibes, on the Nothing Ear (a) as well, and at a lower price point.
Nothing says the 11mm drivers on the (a) deliver double the power of the previous iteration alongside “deeper bass performance” and smart active noise cancellation – “up to 45 dB, Nothing Ear (a) automatically checks for noise leakage between the earbud and your ear canal, then applies more noise cancellation to make up for it.”
From there, you can expect to find up to 10 hours of battery life within the buds themselves – this number jumps up to 42.5 hours with the included charging case – as well as the brand’s ChatGPT functionality for those that also rock a Nothing handset:
Ask, listen and learn from ChatGPT on-the-go. A first-of-its-kind integration, made for your Nothing ecosystem. Use your voice to access ChatGPT on Ear and Ear (a), wherever you are.
We really enjoyed our hands-onetime with these buds too, saying they “hit all the right notes in all the right places.”
Nothing Ear (a) Wireless Earbuds feature:
- Powerful 11 mm driver: We’ve made our driver even more compact. With double the power than Ear (2), Ear (a) delivers an even deeper bass performance. The extra space gives sound waves more room to vibrate. With two new vents, airflow is improved inside the bud. For less distortion and richer overall clarity
- Smart Active Noise Cancellation: Up to 45 dB,Nothing Ear (a) automatically checks for noise leakage between the earbud and your ear canal, then applies more noise cancellation to make up for it. So you receive the best possible noise cancellation. Happens every time you put them in. So you can go from quiet rooms to busy streets without hearing a thing (other than what’s playing)
- Clear Voice Technology: Clear as day. Ear (a) isolates your voice from everyday distractions so calls on-the-go feel like face-to-face conversations. With a new talk mic and extra airway on the stem for wind to pass through, we’ve reduced interference by 60% compared to Ear (2)
