While I currently rock a pair of Bose QC Ultra as my go-to ANC headphones, every time I try a budget pair of headphones from some of the popular budget brands I come away impressed by how well they perform given the price point. For that reason, it’s hard to argue with the value proposition, and at $30, these are certainly worth a peek.

As spotted by our cohorts across the virtual hall, Sony appears to have just essentially confirmed its upcoming WF-1000XM6 earbuds with a new teaser trailer on its official YouTube channel. While it hasn’t precisely stated as much, the tech lurking in the shadows here is almost certainly its next-generation earbuds.

Today Sony is unveiling its next-generation open buds known as the LinkBuds Clip Truly Wireless Open Earbuds. Sony was among the pioneers in the open earbud space and after getting a chance to test these buds out for myself over the last few days, it looks like it’s delivering some of the better options on the market with its latest LinkBuds. 

Buying budget wireless headphones usually meant living with obvious trade-offs – at least until a few years ago. Even today, plenty of premium models still have their own shortcomings. That being said, there’s no shortage of affordable options out there that are slowly catching up and punch well above their weight class to challenge headphones that cost $300 or more. The Baseus Inspire XH1 I’ve been using over the past few weeks is a great example, delivering effective ANC, surprisingly good sound quality, and excellent battery life. Sony has now officially unveiled the new WH-1000XM6 headphones. What might be the most anticipated pair of headphones in the last year has finally arrived as a follow up to some of the most cherished over-ear ANC cans in the business. This time around featuring a new, faster processor, enhanced noise cancellation, even better call quality with upgraded AI noise reduction, and a nicer, more compact design, the question is whether or not all of this and another jump in price will have fans trading out their beloved XM5s (or something from the other brands) for the new XM6.

The looming and rumored upcoming release of the Sony XM6 headphones are easily the most anticipated thing in personal audio thus far in 2025. Leaks, rumors, and datamined details have been surfacing across the web in full force over the last few months (and well before that) but a listing for the new headphones quickly popped up on Amazon Spain over the last several hours, all but conforming an imminent release while also leaking a potential release date and the specs of the beloved next XM series headphones.

Some new details have surfaced pointing at what appears to be an imminent release of the more than long-awaited Sony XM6 headphones. Rumors, FCC filings, and datamined/import details seemingly point at an upcoming new release from Sony’s over-ear department, but a new leak courtesy of Apple’s Made for iPhone/iPad certification program suggest the next-generation of the beloved headphones could be revealed much sooner than not. 

Amazon is now offering various color options of the latest Bose Ultra Open Bluetooth Earbuds, including the sweet Diamond 60th Anniversary Edition set, down at $229 shipped. Regularly $299, this is $70 off, matching the price you’ll pay for a refurbished set right now straight from Bose, and the lowest we can find. We are tracking some seemingly notable price drops on Samsung’s latest Galaxy Buds 3 and Galaxy Buds 3 Pro right – they are down at $139.99 and $209.99, respectively, on Amazon and you’ll find even lower prices on “International Versions” via Woot right now. Some of these offers are matched directly on the Samsung site as well, down from the regular $180 and $250, but the question is are they actually as good as they might seem at a glance?

Earlier this month Apple’s Beats brand finally unleashed the next-generation Powerbeats Pro 2. After getting a chance to test them out, we said “they’re better in every way” while delivering built-in heart rate monitoring. For some, they easily give the AirPods Pro 2 a run for their money, if not for any other reason than the more secure fit made possible by the now somewhat iconic ear hook design. One thing they are not is on sale – if they are anything like the previous Beats earbuds release, it will be several months before we see a price drop. Bose has decided to get in on the Valentine’s Day celebration this year again, now kicking its annual sale off one week ahead of the big day. While the Bose holiday deals were, in some cases, quite wild with some particularly notable price drops on select colorways of its latest releases, there’s still some great offers to scope out today if you missed out. One of the options that caught our eye first is the latest base model Bose QuietComfort Wireless Headphones with Active Noise Cancellation down at $249 shipped in seven different colorways via Amazon. Regularly $349, this is a straight up $100 price drop. 

We in fact just spotted a new Amazon all-time low on the base model AirPods 4 at $100, but Amazon is also bringing back Black Friday pricing on the latest 2024 Beats Solo Buds at $49.95 shipped. Regularly $80, you’ll now find this 38% price drop live on the Transparent Red, Matte Black, and Storm Gray colors. Now $10 under the previous Amazon deal price, today’s offer is matching the price we featured over Black Friday and in the lead up to Christmas last year. 

Amazon is now offering a couple of the latest colorways of the Beats Studio Pro over-ear headphones with a serious price drop today. Regularly $350, you can now land the Dune or Moon colorways down at $179.99 shipped. That’s a, frankly, giant $170 price drop that comes within $20 of the all-time low we have only tracked once before on these models. 

JBL has unveiled a new pair of headphones at CES 2025 called the Tour One M3, and this set has a bunch of noteworthy features that make it stand out from many other alternatives on the market. These headphones can be bought with an optional wireless transmitter to wirelessly connect to older devices, and they’ll hit the scene later this year in April for $399.95 shipped. It is becoming increasingly difficult to standout in the wireless earbuds space, I mean they are just earbuds after all. We’ve seen models with touchscreen displays on the cases, audio retransmission, and even some impressive hearing test and silent gesture tech from Apple, so what’s left? Well perhaps not much but the new Audio-Technica buds being unleashed at CES to have particularly impressive battery life and a sweet magnetic auto shut-off feature too. Check them out below. 

Amazon has now brought back its Black Friday all-time lows on the 2024 Sonos Ace noise cancelling headphones at $349 shipped in both the black and white colorways. This is a regularly $449 set of cans seeing a straight up $100 price drop to deliver the lowest price we can find. While we did see very short-lived offers on them that knocked an additional $50 off during the B&H and Adorama Black Friday sales, today’s deals are otherwise on par with the lowest price we have tracked and matching the all-time low at Amazon. They are also matched over at Best Buy right now as well.

There are a bunch of super notable Bose headphone and earbud deals live right now for Black Friday, many of which are found down below, but we also spotted the very fist price drop on its brand new QuietComfort Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds at $149 shipped. Now live at Amazon and directly from Bose, these buds released back in mid-September to take on the new AirPods 4, but have now dropped down in price to undercut Apple’s new ANC-equipped 4th-gen buds. 

As part of its Black Friday Week Deals, Amazon is now offering the Sony WF-1000XM5 Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds down at $228 shipped. Regularly $300, this is nearly 25% off and the lowest price we can find. You will also find these popular in-ears marked down over at Best Buy as part of its Black Friday event at $230 shipped. Both retailers are offering all three colors down at the respective discounted prices to deliver a price on par with this year’s Prime day deal. While we have seen a couple very short-lived and fleeting offers for a few bucks less at Amazon, seeing the XM5 buds down at under $230 is a notable price and on par with just about all of the best deals we have spotted this year otherwise.

Amazon is now bringing back its all-time low price on the semi-transparent Nothing Ear Wireless Earbuds at $119 shipped as part of a limited-time Lightning deal. This means you’ll have a limited time to claim the low price before the discounted stock runs dry. While listed with a regular price tag at $159 on Amazon, they actually carry at $149 MSRP and have now returned to lowest price we have tracked since release in April 2024.
