Spigen has been releasing some of our favorite budget-friendly Apple Watch bands for years now – the Lite Fit is a particular highlight – and its latest has just surfaced on Amazon. New Spigen Athlex Air Apple Watch band
Much like the aforementioned Lite Fit, the new Athlex Air model immediately caught my eye for a couple reasons. Firstly, I am generally a fan of the brand’s penchant for some little pops of stitched color detailing on its bands and, secondly, the fabric construction here. The brand’s fabric and stretchy nylon treatments are where its Apple Watch bands really shine for me personally.
The Athlex Air, as the name suggests, is designed to provide a sporty, lightweight strap solution for Apple’s Ultra 1 and 2 as well as the 45 and 46mm Series models. You’ll find a nylon fabric approach with subtle multi-color stitch work along the body of the strap and a sold border along the outside, again, much like the Apple Trail Loop.
The yellow stitch work throughout here is a highlight for me. It sort of finds a way to elevate the look of the band from your basic run of the mill fabric sort strap to something with more visual interest around every curve.
The brand has implemented what it calls a hook and loop fastener mechanism to get the right fit – according to Spigen the start and stop sliding tech means you can use the pull tab to tighten the watch band around your wrist with one hand. This is a one-size-fits-most solution that extends from 155mm through to 230mm.
