Journey decided to expand its Find My-equipped lineup of accessories with its very first water bottle release known as the REEVUS. Complete with onboard Apple tracking, a pop-out MagSafe phone holder, and a stainless steel build, I was intrigued at launch and just had to get hands-on to see if this thing is worth the price of entry.

9to5Toys’ Take
Let’s get one thing straight off the top here. I know there are some serious hardcore water bottle/tumbler enthusiasts out there, some border line addicts too (don’t tell my wife I said this…one bottle is enough honey), but I’m not one of them.
That said, I do love My Find accessories, am known to have at least some sort of water-filled drinking vessel next to my desk and even sometimes in my backpack – I can certainly appreciate a good piece of tech-laden steel too. So let’s dive in.
Firstly let’s talk build and aesthetics. I liked the look of this bottle in the marketing imagery when it first released, albeit there’s nothing overly unique about the visuals here as far as water bottles go, and I like it equally as much in person – the black, yellow, and off-white model was the one that really caught my eye, but I have only been able to test the natural steel and black variant in person.
When you unscrew the lid portion of the Reevus – this is where all the tech is housed, the magnetic phone stand, and so on, you’re left with nothing but the steel body, so let’s start there.

The overall build on the actual steel bottle portion of the package is a good one – it is solid stainless steel, not so thick that it gets heavy, but not so thin that its going to dent every time you drop it. There’s a nice, subtle brushed effect across the outside of the body, and an ultra-subtle vertical Journey logo on the lower-third – I can do without this detail, but it doesn’t bother me in the slightest as you can barely see it.

Popping back over to the lid you’re met with a thick and generally quite rugged feeling plastic covered rig – it feels like a treated metal and, although it’s hard to say for sure, the actual portion that screws onto the bottle might even be metal.

A round hinged magnetic pad flips up from the top to provide the aforementioned MagSafe phone holder. There’s no charging here, in case you were wondering, it’s just a place to neatly stow a phone during a workout, or perhaps for creating content on-the-go – I will certainly never use this feature personally, but I do know folks who rest their phone on a bottle during outdoor cross-fit workouts and the like, so some of you might appreciate this. It does work nicely right through my leather iPhone 16 Pro case.
Side note: It might have been cool to be able to use the entire lid portion of the bottle as a mini portable MagSafe stand too, but it’s not really weighty enough to make that happen.

Once you flip up this MagSafe stand from the lid, you’ll find a small port where the Find My puck rests. All of the tech here is housed inside of a removable puck that neatly stows directly into the top of the bottle’s lid. It can just as easily pop back out and dropped onto a wireless charging pad to juice back up.
Journey has implemented a system where by once you snap the puck into place it cannot fall out even if the bottle is upside down, and you simply press down on one side to pop it back out. It is a nice system and very easy to use.
As far as the actual Find My action here, there’s a not a ton to say about it. It literally works exactly as you would expect from a third-party implementation – the tracking has been flawless, there’s an onboard speaker so you can make your water bottle chime for audio locating, and it supports the usual set of Left Behind notifications. Again, not a ton to say – it works exactly the way every other piece of third-party Find My gear you have does, and well.
So what’s wrong with this bottle then? Well, it’s quite pricey at $89.99 (it is still 15% off at checkout right now though) – you can get a steel Stanley, Owala, or Hydro Flask for around half the price. You can’t track those with Find My and there’s no MagSafe stand on most of the big brand options, but they will keep you just as hydrated.
The other thing is the actual drinking experience. I can only imagine what those tumbler enthusiasts out there will say about this. Well actually I can, because I asked, and it went something like this:
“There’s no straw lid attachment?!”
“There’s no sippy lid?!”

No there isn’t and that’s just fine for me. When you remove the lid, which is the only way to actually drink from this thing, you’re met with a basic large mouth opening on the basic steel body of the bottle. Again, I’m totally fine with this and it drinks nicely for me, but, skipping right past the design and Find My integration, the first thing both of my bottle-connoisseur confidants said was, “you have to drink right from the bottle like that?”
In conclusion, I like this bottle and will continue to use it, I’m just not sure someone who loves their Stanley or YETI will too.
Should you buy one? If you lose your tumbler a lot or are just a total find My geek like me…yes? Otherwise, maybe not.
