This is the brand’s latest Gen 5 drive that debuted earlier this year in April carrying a $180 price tag. Today’s Prime-exclusive deal lands as this 1TB variant’s first deal and it takes $27 off its usual going rate. The new SN8100 drive, as highlighted in our launch coverage, offers blazing-fast read and write speeds of up to 14,900MB/s and 14,000MB/s, respectively. It comes in 1TB, 2TB, and 4TB capacities, with Amazon currently offering deals on all three variants starting at $153.99 shipped. The SN8100 is powered by advanced BiCS8 TLC 3D NAND and is said to deliver twice the speed and 100% better power efficiency compared to the brand’s previous Gen 4.0 drives. The heatsink versions haven’t hit Amazon just yet, but they’re less likely to see such deep discounts right away.
Samsung’s latest 2TB 9100 Pro SSDs are discounted right now and start from $150 lows. These drives can also hit transfer speeds of up to 14,800MB/s and the 1TB model is now down from its usual price of $170.
