Earlier this year Spigen unleashed its new Athlex Air band for Apple Watch users, and it has now surfaced for folks who might have just picked up a new Galaxy Watch 8 or Galaxy Watch 8 Classic. After getting a chance to put this band to the test for review, and an additional 4 months after that now, it has quickly become one of my favorite new tech accessories of the year.
The Spigen Athlex Air band for Galaxy Watch 8 or Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is essentially identical to the Apple Watch variant just with the appropriate Samsung connectors – Samsung has now updated the Watch 8 connection system so this new band won’t work properly with older series 4 through 7 models.
It lands as a dramatically more affordable alternative to something like Apple’s Trail Loop for Apple Watch Ultra 2 or the, perhaps, something along the lines of the regular $55 Galaxy Watch8 Classic Fabric Band, but again, at a fraction of the price.
Apple’s Trail is admittedly of a higher overall quality, and Samsung’s Fabric Band (which is currently on sale for $38.50) has a slightly more interesting outer facade to my eyes, but the Spigen band does have a lot going for it at $27 Prime shipped.

For one, the model I have for Apple Watch is supremely comfortable. It is, in fact, one of the most comfortable watch straps I own, easily rivaling anything from Apple or more expensive third-party solutions in this regard.
It has a sort of woven multicolor weave to the main body of the band, similar to the Trail Loop, with hits of yellow accents and an almost industrial-looking internal yellow strapping. It does have Velcro-like fastening setup, but there is a sort of hook and loop system that allows you to comfortably adjust the fit, while making it very easy to get on and off in seconds.

Features at a glance:
- Super comfortable fabric material
- One-handed hook and loop fit adjustment
- Yellow stitching details
- Four colorway options
You can dive into our hands-on review of the Apple Watch model to for deeper insight into the wearing experience – it is, again, essentially the same as the Galaxy Watch model – and it is now available for purchase on the brand’s official Amazon storefront at $26.99 Prime shipped.
