While the Black Friday deals on Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater have all but dried up completely now, you do still have a relatively rare chance to land the Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater Collector’s Edition on sale over at Woot. As part of its ongoing Mega Game Sale, you can still land the Metal Gear Solid Δ: Snake Eater Collector’s Edition down at $134.99 shipped, or 33% off.
This regularly $200 package has been relatively hard to get at major retailers, never mind finding it on sale. While there was a brief chance to land it for $15 less with a special in-app promotion, if you’re looking to score it for your collection or as an epic gamer gift this year, the 33% price drop here is a…solid…one.
As a long-time fan of the series, dating way back to before the first Metal Gear Solid released on PS1, I came away very impressed with the remake here – MGS 3 was already perfect if you ask me (especially once the camera control was taken of in later iterations), but the complete Unreal Engine 5 treatment worked wonders on this stealth action classic.
One of top of that, you’re looking at the collector’s edition, complete with a “recreation of the fake identification badge Naked Snake uses to break into Groznyj Grad Northeast,” a “stitched patch showing membership in the legendary FOX UNIT,” a “rubber patch commemorating Naked Snake’s historic HALO parachute jump,” the “retro style metal game case,” miniature Naked Snake figurine, and a “miniature terrarium based on the iconic opening scene of Virtuous Mission where Naked Snake must recover his equipment bag snagged on a tree branch.” It’s certainly not a perfect CE, but it is one some MGS fans will certainly appreciate.
More on Metal Gear Solid Δ:
An intense origin story betrayal and tactical espionage action. Become Naked Snake, a special operations soldier tasked with sneaking into hostile environments, avoiding combat when possible, hiding the evidence when he does engage and infiltrating deep into enemy territory to complete his mission. The legendary story, characters, voice acting, gameplay, and music that made the original a sensation all return, evolved and more immersive than ever. This modern leap breathes new life into every cutscene and rebuilds every corner of the world. With the updated battle damage system, the wear and tear of Snake’s clothes, as well as bruises and bullet wounds on his body, reflected in real time.
