So far this month, LEGO has given us a few vehicle-related reveals, with the Icons Project Hail Mary set and the Icons Ford Model T set, and now we’re getting the next big unveiling following this trend with the upcoming 40955 Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel. Sadly, unlike those other two, this set isn’t getting any pre-order opportunities ahead of its official release, but folks won’t have to wait long to get their hands on this long-awaited build. Head below to learn more and browse through all the available photos.
After 12 years, Maersk is returning in LEGO brick-built form with this new 40955 Maersk Dual-Fuel Container Vessel set. Not since the (now-retired) Creator Expert Maersk Triple-E ship in 2014 have we had the Maersk company featured, with this being one of the biggest companies in Denmark, sitting right alongside LEGO.
Stacking up to 1,516 pieces, you’ll be able to build your very own Ane Maersk, which is a well-known sustainable vehicle in the shipping industry, and, as the name implies, runs via a dual-fuel engine that includes green methanol. It’s quite the collector’s set that will fit right in with other vehicles from across LEGO’s themes.
Just like other sets based on real vehicles, you’ll find some crafty brickwork here that recreates some of its mechanical design, with the engine on display through a transparent window, as well as an opening bridge section to crew quarters. You’ll also have plenty of actual stacked shipping containers to complete the look. All-in-all, it will stand 23.5 inches long, 7 inches tall, and 4.5 inches wide.
It will be hitting the shelves come March 1, 2026, with a $149.99 price tag, and, as I stated, there are no pre-order possibilities, so you’ll have to wait until the calendar flips over into the new month.
