Dbrand delivers retro Apple vibes with new ‘1984’ MacBook skins from $32

What if Apple made MacBooks back in 1984? That’s the question Dbrand decided to ask itself and the answer is the all-new 1984 MacBook skins. The new new MacBook NeoM5 MacBook Pro, and the upgraded M5 MacBook Air launch today and will begin landing on doorsteps very shortly, and now Dbrand has now launched its all-new vintage-inspired 1984 skins to bring some Apple nostalgia to your modern machines.

Dbrand’s new MacBook skins make your modern MacBook look like it was made in 1984

The new Dbrand 1984 skins are now available for purchase starting from $31.95, complete with a retro rainbow Apple logo set atop a “painstakingly colormatched” skin to pair up nicely with all modern MacBook finishes, including the vibrant new Citrus Neo: Space Gray, Space Black, Midnight, Starlight, Silver, Citrus, Blush, and Indigo.

Dbrand did however tell us, in a way only it can, that “unfortunately, if you own a Sky Blue MacBook Air, you’ll need to continue living with regret.”

Long before aluminum unibodies and trillion-dollar valuations, computers did more than make your life miserable. Stock traders weren’t WSB degenerates, they wore suits and ruined the economy in style. “Pivoting to video” meant turning on MTV, not chasing a career in short-form brainrot. Most importantly, Apple made computers with rainbow logos. Now, we’re weaponizing your nostalgia for that bygone era.

Dbrand says the skins are 2.3mm thin while still delivering “ultimate scratch protection” alongside the “3D-printed logo.”

They are, for the record, available for just about all modern MacBook releases (“27 different MacBooks”), not just the new MacBook NeoM5 MacBook Pro, and the upgraded M5 MacBook Air
