While we are tracking nearly $100 off the previous-gen AirPods Max USB-C models at Amazon, it might be a long while before we see deals like that on the brand new AirPods Max 2. We are, however, once again tracking some open-box offers in “excellent” condition at up to $86 off the list. Details below.
These open-box offers come by way of Best Buy’s open-box offers and all in “excellent” condition with a 1-year warranty and Geek Squad verification, according to the listing pages:

- AirPods Max 2 Purple $479 (Reg. $549 new)
- AirPods Max 2 Midnight $479 (Reg. $549 new)

Considering how new these Apple cans are at this point, chances are these are more or less just floor units and folks who have returned them in the early days. Best Buy’s open-box gear has been generally quite reliable for me in terms of quality and functionality, and especially so with the “excellent” condition units.
If you’re looking to land a set of Apple’s new over-ears in the early days, these Best Buy offers are going to be about as good as its gets if you don’t have an older Lightning set to trade in:
Amazon does have select colors in brand new condition down at $530 right now, but if you have an older Lightning set of AirPods Max, Best Buy will send you $130 in refund cash for them. This is effectively the best “deal” we have seen on the new AirPods Max since release last month.
