Twelve South debuts PowerClip – an ultra-mini power bank with integrated USB-C cables

After the launch of its new CableStay USB-C cable anchor last month, the folks are touching down again today with the ultra-mini PowerClip power bank

New Twelve South PowerClip

PowerClip is an ultra-compact power bank, designed to deliver power anytime, anywhere from a unit smaller than the palm of your hand.

The 2,000mAh power bank is designed not to replace those big giant models you might stuff in a drawer and forget about, or something buried in the bottom of your bag to juice your MacBook up, but rather to deliver a handy on-the-go option small enough to hang on your keychain, bag, or otherwise.

Lightweight enough to clip to your bag, backpack or keys, small enough to forget it’s there, and designed to deliver a meaningful charge the moment your screen reads 1%,PowerClip is emergency power built for the way people actually move through their day.

The new PowerClip features a a built-in attachment ring alongside an included zinc-alloy carabiner used to clip the tiny power bank to a “bag strap, belt loop, or backpack zipper,” allowing it to remain “accessible without taking up space.”

Alongside the muted and vibrant color options, it features a pair of integrated USB-C cables on either side, maintaining an all-in-one sort of setup so you don’t need to carry around cables along with it. Both of these cables can be used to power two different devices, but one is also used to juice the internal battery back up – it supports passthrough charging so you can power the internal battery and a device at the same time if needs be. Twelve South says the battery recharges in under two hours.

Features at a glance:

  • 2,000 mAh capacity delivers up to30% charge to your phone, full charge to AirPods
  • Zinc-alloy carabiner clips to keys, bags, and backpacks
  • Both integrated USB-C cables charge your devices at up to 5W—use one or both at once. One cable also accepts input for recharging, enabling passthrough so PowerClip refills while your device stays powered
  • Recharges fully in under two hours via USB-C
  • LED battery level indicator
  • Available in Mint, Fuchsia, Dune, Slate, and Teal
  • Part of the Twelve South Travel Essentials collection

The new PowerClip will eblaunching alongside a limited-edition Twelve South × ALPAKA Micro Tote with a dedicated home for PowerClip and colors made to match the new Twelve South power bank as well. It is launching today and carries a $29.99 list price.

The PowerClip itself is also debuting today and should be available on the Twelve South site shortly (if it isn’t already) at $39.99. It is scheduled to hit Amazon “later in May.”
