The all-new roborock RockMow X120H robot is the brand’s first step into the autonomous mowing sector, bringing along much of the same look and functionality as the Segway Navimow X430, which we came away from our spring review absolutely loving.
This is a highly advanced mowing companion that, like Segway’s model, brings along a bunch of premium features in order to more accurately tackle lawncare duties, while giving you back more time for yourself or your home’s other needs. To start, this model has been given a dense 3D point cloud via LiDAR with an intelligent Dual-Camera AI Vision system, allowing it to both map your yard by itself while also allowing the detection and bypassing of common lawn obstacles, including toys, yard furniture, tools, and various debris types.
This model is also tossing out any reliance on guide wires to keep it within boundaries, and unlike the Segway Navimow X430, which does still utilize RTK satellite positioning with an AI vision camera, this model does all from its own LiDAR scanner and camera system – complete with three years of FREE 4G connectivity for remotely tracking it.
It also boasts all-wheel drive (AKA four-wheel drive) mobility that allows it to better move across your yard without severely damaging the turf, as well as get closer to edges (up to 3cm), climb obstacles up to 3.1 inches high, and tackle up to 38.7-degree slopes. The wheels themselves are knobby and durable, with the brand’s Dynamic Suspension System that has a terrain-adaptive chassis and dual independent springs.
There is a floating cutting deck here for more uniform cutting heights regardless of how uneven the terrain is, providing you with a 0.75-inch to 4-inch cutting height range. What’s more, the entire thing comes within an IPX6-rated waterproof casing that lets it handle jets of water without concern, allowing you to wash it with a hose, for example.
