Segway has launched a pre-order deal on its new Ninebot S2 Kids Self-Balancing Scooter at $349.99 shipped. This new kids-focused model will fetch $450 at full price after this initial deal ends on September 7, 2026, with you getting $100 savings in the meantime while setting the bar for any future discounts we may see down the road. Keep in mind that if you want to get the first wave of releases, you’ll want to place your order before that end date to have it ship out between September 8 and 15, 2026.
Segway is expanding its kids-focused EVs, and the first of these new rides hitting the scene is this Ninebot S2 self-balancing scooter that brings along a similar feature set to the popular adult-ready S2 self-balancing scooter, but dialed down for beginner-friendly safety.
It’s been designed to allow kids a safer way to “learn, cruise, and practice new skills,” complete with beginner-friendly tech for controlled performance through its in-app smart controls. There are dual 130W motors (350W peak each) here that can top out at 8.7 MPH, while the battery offers up to 8 miles of riding on each 2.5-hour charge. It’s a compact and easier-to-manage 23.8 pounds in weight, complete with UL safety certifications, a full battery management system, and a 132-pound rider payload.
Parents can feel at ease letting their kids learn the ropes, as it has intelligent voice prompts to help kids feel more comfortable upon first stepping on it. Not only is it a thrill for kids to ride, but they’ll also be getting some fun features to customize how they ride in the form of colorful RGB lighting and Bluetooth speakers for listening to music. There’s also front and rear lighting and a built-in LED dashboard, too.
