We just spotted a deal at Amazon that drops Samsung’s new 2TB 990 EVO Plus SSD down to $139.99 shipped. That’s straight up a $45 discount on a brand new Gen 4 M.2 internal drive that debuted in September carrying a $185 price tag. Today’s 24% discount drops this 2TB model $10 below its previous all-time low from last month. This is the lowest price we have tracked for this particular SSD which is still fetching its full $185 price directly at Samsung’s online store. The 1TB variant of 990 EVO Plus SSD is also at $84.99 shipped on Amazon, which is down from its usual price of $110, and you can learn more about it below.

Samsung’s new 990 EVO Plus lands as an upgraded model over the 990 EVO, which is still down at $70 low on Amazon. The newer drive, as mentioned in our launch coverage, offers sequential read and write speeds up to 7,250 MB/s and 6,300 MB/s, respectively, and these speeds are up to 50% faster than the 990 EVO module. The newer SSD discounted today supports PCIe 4.0 x4 and PCIe 5.0 x2 standards, and Samsung says it also offers up to 73% better power efficiency over 990 EVO. This Gen 4 drive is suitable for a variety of builds and is definitely worth considering if you’re shopping for new SSDs for your new or existing PCs.
