Amazon is now offering Twelve South Butterfly SE 2-in-1 15W MagSafe Travel Charger down at $79.99 shipped. Regularly $100, this is a straight up 20% price drop and the lowest we can find – it is still up at the full $100 via the online Apple Store of course. After debuting last summer as a more affordable alternative to the standard model with more or less the same specs (2-in-1, 15W charging, and so on), you’re looking at the second-best price to date, having only ever dropped any lower to $70 at Amazon during a Black Friday sale event.
Twelve South’s original Butterfly was among the first and, frankly, best travel chargers of the sort. The SE is much of the same thing just with a rubberize finish as opposed to the metal on the more pricey version – they otherwise deliver the same performance and overall clamshell-style design.
You can certainly find more affordable solutions – the 3-in-1 Anker UFO model comes to mind – but Twelve South always fetches a bit more of a premium, as is usually the case with the higher-end, well-known brands.

You’re essentially looking at a tiny puck-style unit that unfolds to reveal a 15W Qi2 MagSafe charger on one side and a Qi-style pad for AirPods and the like on the other. The whole thing connects to a power source over USB-C and makes for a wonderful travel charging solution – I use one just about every time I leave the house for an even mildly extended period of time, as detailed in my Travel Kit feature piece.
