Apple’s 512GB iPad A16 just hit the best price ever at $499 ($150 off), but you can score an M3 iPad Air for that price

While we are still tracking the most affordable 128GB iPad A16 configuration down at $299 shipped in all four colors, the upgraded 512GB model just hit its best price ever. Regularly $649, the silver top-of-the-line 11-inch iPad A16 just dropped to $499 shipped at Amazon from the regular $649 to deliver the lowest price we have tracked online yet. 

As of right now, only the silver model 512GB is seeing this particularly deep price drop today. There is a chance we see the others follow suit, but considering this Amazon deal is being ushered in by way of a price match on the Best Buy Deal of the Day offer, it is likely only the silver model will be $150 off today. 

Clearly the real selling point for most folks on Apple’s new iPad A16 is the price. Landing a brand new, current-generation Apple tablet as low $299 shipped is a pretty sweet proposition for those who can make do with the most casual model in the lineup. While it isn’t Apple Intelligence-friendly, the base model configuration comes in well below the more powerful variants in the lineup. 

That said, and as notable as today’s all-time low $150 price drop is, the 512GB model is a different story of you ask me. The $499 deal price we have here today is definitely notable and the deepest deal we have seen to date, but it also approaching the price of an M3 iPad Air as well. Do you want Apple’s least powerful 11-inch model with 512GB of storage or do you want one with a relatively modern M series chip for the same price – the 11-inch 128GB M3 iPad Air is also sitting at $499 shipped at the time of writing via Amazon. The rest of the M3 iPad Air lineup is also at $100 off right now as well. 

For my money, I’d take the 128GB M3 iPad Air, despite the much lighter storage capacity, but you’re either way looking at a pair of notable price drops on current-generation iPad models.
