9to5Toys’ Take

First thing’s first, let’s talk leather. Clearly, you’re not going to be intersted in something like this unless you can appreciate American leather craftsmanship, but if you are, you’re in for a treat.

The entire outer facade of this tech accessory carrier is made from a tough and yet somewhat supple full-grain leather – this is nothing new when it comes to Burton Goods, but it is a particularly nice example. It is simply and classically gorgeous.

You’ll find an additional strapping of leather wrapped around the bottom of the case for added durability and a touch of design interest, much like the visible traditional stitching work lining the perimeter of the case, on either side of the zipper, and on the zipper pull tab. It too is exactly the sort of thing I not only like to see, but want to see on my traditional leather craft goods.

Burton Goods has implemented a sort of cross “X” stitch across the front of the case, much like we see on its iPhone 16 Pro/Max cases – there’s some nice synergy here for folks who also own the phone case, and, while I tend to prefer entirely clean and basic design on my tech accessories, I can appreciate this not so subtle design touch. It’s not going to be for everyone, but I’m into it.

You might take the same perspective on the embossed Burton Goods logo set within the “X” stitch – again, I might rather the case remain entirely clean and branding-free, but this is a good example of logo work that actually enhances the look of the bag instead of entirely ruining the visual vibe.

A brown leather case on top of a black book

Alongside the sort of gunmetal-colored teeth of the main zipper, I by in large really like the look of this thing and can very much appreciate the visual design. I’m already starting to see tiny dings and slight scratches – this truly is a wonderful piece of leather that’s going to tell your story and look more and more beautiful the more you use it (if your into that kind of thing, and I’m very much into that kind of thing).

Outside In

Now let’s talk about the interior. Once you unzip the main compartment to reveal its innards, you’ll be graced with a sort of soft black canvas-like lining, complete with visual stitching and hits of leather to bring some of the design work from the outside in.

There’s a leather patch lining the top of the main zippered compartment that rests atop the main large pocket on one side. And on the other you’ll find a matching leather loop to stow your Apple Pencil or writing utensil as well as, what is for me the most gorgeous aspect of the interior, three leather tabs adorned with the Burton Goods logo that snap tight around cables and things of that nature. Those join three additional elastic loops for securing other accessories, additional cables, and anything else you can slide in there.

A bag with wires in it

All-in-all, there are 6 cable loops, two pockets, and a pencil loop. I sort of expected to see some kind of dedicated AirTag compartment tucked away inside the main pocket here, but there’s no shortage of places to stow one of those anyway.

There’s more than enough room for a power bank, portable SSD, a wall charger or two, 4+ USB-C cables, an Apple Pencil, and frankly even more smaller accessories to stuff into the main zipper pocket and compartment.

It’s a gorgeous tech accessory case – it is in fact, the nicest one of its kind I have ever tested out. It looks just as nice on the shelf in your office as it does getting pulled out at business meetings, and provides ample space for more than enough add-on tech than I’ll ever need when away from home, on vacation, or traveling for work.

It’s not cheap, but these sorts of wonderful leather goods rarely are, and this is really just for the sorts of folks that have an affinity for these kinds of leather goods that might last longer than you do. If you fit into that category, I highly recommend the new Burton Goods Leather Techfolio Cord Organizer, especially while you can get one at 20% off using code BG20 at checkout.
