Samsung just unleashed three new Odyssey gaming monitors including ‘world’s first 500Hz OLED’ model

Samsung’s Odyssey G6 (G60SF) debuted in May this year as the world’s first 500Hz OLED gaming monitor, though it was limited to just four Asian markets at that time. It’s now making its way to the U.S., launching alongside two new G7 models – the 37-inch and 40-inch Odyssey G7 (G75F) – all available directly from Samsung. The Odyssey G6 (G60SF) stands out as the star of the lineup today, and it sports a 27-inch QHD panel with a $1,000 price tag. Hit the jump for a closer look and more details.

Samsung’s Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF) now up for grabs

Samsung’s new Odyssey G6 (G60SF) is now available for purchase directly at Samsung’s official site for $999.99 shipped. It sports a QD-OLED panel with QHD (2,560 x 1,440) resolution, support for up to 500Hz refresh rate, and an ultra-fast 0.03ms response time (GTG) to ensure you get a solid experience while gaming. It also hits the sweet spot for most gamers out there with a 27-inch screen size. This monitor with a VESA DisplayHDR True Black 500 certification also supports NVIDIA G-SYNC and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro for smoother, tear-free visuals, and Samsung says it’s also a Pantone Validated panel, which means you can expect it to have highly accurate color reproduction to deliver solid visuals both in and out of games.

Lastly, it’s worth noting that the Odyssey G6 OLED monitor is protected with Samsung OLED Safeguard+, which helps to prevent burn-in even during extended use, and has a three-year warranty.

Two new Odyssey G7 curved gaming monitors

In addition to the new Odyssey OLED G6, Samsung is expanding its Odyssey lineup with two new G7 curved gaming monitors. There’s a 37-inch model featuring a 4K UHD 165Hz panel, and a 40-inch model with an ultra-wide 21:9 screen that goes up to a WUHD resolution (5,120 x 2,160) and 180Hz refresh rate. The 37-inch Odyssey G7 is $899.99 shipped, whereas the 40-inch Odyssey G7 is a bit pricier at $1,199.99 shipped. Both monitors have a 1ms GtG response time, and they’re both VESA DisplayHDR 600 certified models with support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro.

As part of Samsung’s existing Odyssey G7 lineup, the new monitors retain many features from previous models. One of them is Auto Source Switch+, which automatically detects when connected devices are powered on and instantly switches to the new source without any interruptions. They also use the CoreSync tech and CoreLighting+ to project the on-screen colors via the lights fitted at the back. Other highlights include an ergonomic stand with the ability to tilt and adjust monitor height, split screen capabilities for side-by-side gameplay on the 40-inch model, and more.

All three of these new Odyssey gaming monitors, as previously mentioned, are now available, so be sure to grab them and upgrade your battlestation now if you were waiting for some new models to go on sale.
